FCS II AM PC Twin Plus Surfboard Fins XL
Al Merrick’s twin fin template in performance core – with a 3rd stabilizer centre fin. This is the lowest area twin set in the FCS range. The low sweep (rake) and narrow tip means these fins pivot and release exceptionally well, while maintaining incredible trim speed and the ability to quickly break into a turn. The Mini stabilizer has a narrow, elongated template with a rounded tip to add control when driving through a turns.
The FCS II AM Twin + 1 was tested and refined by CI’s team riders such as Rob Machado, Dane Reynolds and Dane Gudauskas. Typically suited to boards with lower rocker, these fins pivot and release exceptionally well, require minimal effort to turn off the top, while maintaining incredible speed and acceleration due to the lack of resistance typically caused by a larger centre fin.
Recommended for the CI Twin and CI Rocket surfboards.

GEOMETRY
Lowest area twin set in the range. The side fins have a wide base and a long leading edge running into a narrow tip, this provides great trim speed, with the ability to quickly break into a turn. The very low sweep angle and subtle curve on the trailing edge means this set will pivot in a super tight radius, while maintaining sufficient hold characteristics when pushed a little harder through a turn. In direct comparison to the side fins, the mini stabiliser has a narrow, elongated template with a rounded tip to add control when used with the side fins.
CONSTRUCTION
PC fins deliver a consistent feel similar to a traditional fibreglass fin, but with the advantage of reduced weight. The flex pattern extends progressively from the base through to the tip helping the surfer
to maintain drive and hold through a turn. PC fins are reliable, very responsive, and can be used in a variety of different conditions.
Twin Fin Guide
‘Twin fin’ templates features a large surface area and upright design, allowing for tight turns in the pocket. Some twin fin sets include a mini stabilizer fin which draws the turn out slightly.
‘Keels fins’ offer stability, classic glide and trim for high speed ‘down the line’ surfing.
If you board shaper recommends a specific fin for your board we would always advise you to stay with this recommendation.
There are no surfer weight/size guides for twin fins and keels as they are generally suitable for all weights and sizes of surfers. Note: You may find some fins identified on catalogues/stock numbers as ‘Large’ or ‘XL’, but this is just used as a comparison to thruster fins and is NOT a weight guide for users.
